What is the link to login to the Helm Control Panel?
The link to login to Helm is:
http://helm.{yourdomain.com}
Replace {yourdomain.com} with a domain you are hosting.
FTP - Where should I upload my files?
When uploading your files it is important to upload them to correct place. The files that you wish to be visible on the internet and on your website should be uploaded to the wwwroot directory.
Any files uploaded outside of this directory cannot be accessed via your domain.
What nameservers do I need to use to point my domain to my hosting?
In order to point your domain to your hosting account with us, please use the following nameservers:
- ns1.brighticon.co.uk
- ns2.brighticon.co.uk
- ns3.brighticon.co.uk
- ns4.brighticon.co.uk
How can I access my website statistics - SmarterStats
Your website hosting package comes with SmarterStats package. To access SmarterStats:
http://stats.{yourdomain.com}
Replace {yourdomain.com} with a domain you are hosting.
Alternatively you can access your website statistics by logging into Helm and selecting Statistics icon.
Email
What is the link to access Webmail?
Webmail is provided through the SmarterMail web application and can be accessed via http://mail.{yourdomain.com} (replace {yourdomain.com} with the domain hosted with us). From there you can login to your email account by entering your full email address i.e. name@yourdomain.com and your email password.
How can I create an email account on my domain?
- Login to the Helm Control Panel - http://helm.{yourdomain.com}
- Click the "Domains" icon
- Click the domain you wish to create an email account on
- Click the "Email Accounts (POP3)" icon on the domain
- Click the "Add New" button
- In the email address box type the name of the email account you wish to create for example "sales", followed by the password in each of the 2nd lot of boxes
- Click the "Save" button.
How can I change my email password?
Follow these simple steps to change you email password:
- Login to webmail - http://mail.{yourdomain.com}
- Select "Account Settings" from the options on the left.
- Enter your current password and your new password in the boxes provided.
- Click the "Save" button.
My ISP blocks port 25 for SMTP, is there an alternative?
Some ISPs block the standard SMTP port (25) for their customers, meaning that it is not possible to access our SMTP server.
In these cases, we offer a second SMTP port which is 543. Most mail clients will let you change this port number from the same screen that you setup your mail account.
Setting up Email on your iPhone for IMAP/POP
Step 1 - On your iPhone, tap Mail or from the Home screen choose Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account
Step 2 - Choose your email account type: (Y! Mail (for Yahoo!) / Gmail / Mac / AOL / Other (choose other if you’re using SmarterMail)
Step 3 - Click Other
Step 4 - Select a server type — IMAP, POP, or Exchange 5.
Step 5 - Enter your account information:
- Enter your email address
- The email server type (IMAP, POP, or Exchange)
- Enter your incoming mail server (which may look like "mail.example.com")
- Enter your outgoing mail server (which may look like "mail.example.com")
- Enter your user name and password for incoming and outgoing servers (you may not need to enter a user name and password for an outgoing server)
